How to Grow Goji Berries
Growing Miraculous Goji Berries in Your Backyard
Goji berries are fairly new to westerners, but they have been used as a food and medicine in China and Tibet for thousands of years. Although scientific evidence is limited, the berries are used in traditional Chinese medicine for treating liver and kidney problems, to boost the immune system, for weight control and as part of a diet for general good health. You too can enjoy the flavor and the potential health benefits of these tasty pink berries when you grow them in your own backyard, or even indoors.
If you look for goji berries at the grocery store, chances are you won’t find them. Most mainstream stores don’t stock this fruit. At more specialized stores you can find goji berries, typically in their dried form. You can eat them dried, rehydrate them or make them into a tea, but doing so comes at a cost. Goji berries in most western stores are pricey. If you’re interested in adding them to your diet, you can do so affordably when you grow your own. It’s easy with a goji bush from our nursery.
